Dr David Bonser Psychotherapy Fees (From 1st July 2008)
- 1 hour psychotherapy session to be paid on the day: $185*
- 2 hour group therapy session per person: $95
*Please note that the Australian Psychological Society's recommended fee for a one hour psychotherapy session is now $200. Payments are to be made on the day. We do not offer accounts unless under prior arrangements.
Henshaw Consulting accepts all Mastercard and Visa credit cards (not American Express or Diners Club), cash or cheques. An EFTPOS facility is available for savings, cheque or credit accounts on the premises. Credit card payments can also be made over the phone.
Private Health Insurance Rebates
Clients of psychotherapy may currently claim rebates from the following health funds:
- HBF
- Medibank Private
- MBF
- HIF
- GMF
- Grand United
Enquiries about details of exact rebates are welcome. Provider numbers for other health funds will be acquired on request.
Medicare Benefits
Both Dr Sophie Henshaw and Dr David Bonser are registered with Medicare. Under the new Medicare items you are entitled to recieve up to 12 individual sessions of psychotherapy per year and up to 12 group therapy sessions per year. One hour consultations are rebated at the rate of $112.45 per session. Group therapy sessions are rebated at the rate of $28.60 per session as long as the group comprises between 6 to 10 members. You will need a referral from your GP who will write a Mental Health Plan for you and initiate item 2710, which is for 6 sessions. If you require an additional 6 sessions you need to go back to your GP who will register you under item number 2712.
Cancellation Policy
At least 48 hours' notice is required for cancellation of Psychotherapy sessions. Clients cancelling with less than 48 hours' notice or not turning up to their scheduled appointment will be invoiced for a full session. Exceptions will be made for genuine emergencies, upon discretion.
