5. It's Too Hard

Most people in our culture work way too hard. We are constantly busy, constantly thinking and weighed down by all our responsibilities. To consider taking on yet another enterprise – therapy – may seem exhausting just thinking about it. You may feel like you won't be able to manage it, because you're time poor, not capable enough to do what it takes, or not deserving enough. If therapy only adds to your burdens, then quite simply, it's not effective.

Good therapy is effortless, yes that's right, effortless. Let me explain: All you have to do is show up! Good therapy is enjoyable and you will look forward to your weekly sessions where you can discuss absolutely anything you want in a supportive environment where no one is judging you and your therapist is paying you 100% quality attention. Therapy is an organic process that evolves as you do, like sitting in a comfortable, well-appointed lounge room talking to a good friend.

As you explore yourself more deeply, engrained emotional pain that you've been carrying around for years will gradually dislodge and lift effortlessly away and you will be amazed at how much better you feel because you won't remember ever having worked too hard to achieve that! Wellbeing is your natural state and the road back to living freely will take place as a result of the effortless transformations that happen over the course of your therapy. What you won't be given is endless hours of written assignments that feel more like school projects! That said, you can expect for therapy to be confronting at times but when it comes down to it, you will experience this confrontation as moments of intense of emotion but these soon pass and are rapidly replaced by an overwhelming sense of relief and expanded perspective.
